I’ve lived in Vancouver for 30+ years and *just* learned about Opa on Bowen Island. Googling brought me here and I’ve loved learning about your journey – I’ve only read a few but I love your descriptions of places I know and now I want to take the Moose bus from Banff. I work in palliative care – this is such a beautiful ongoing legacy. I might pass this idea on to some of the families we work with (I hope that’s ok. I feel like you’d think that’s ok…). Thank you for sharing this with the world.
PS some might refer to the internet journey I just took as “a rabbit hole”…
What an incredible journey honouring the man you loved dearly whilst having fun and meeting wonderful souls along the way. I can see Brian smiling

Fantastic story I was born and raised 36 South Street Rydalmere adjacent to all the factories what a wonderful wonderful upbringing we had my twin brother and I went to Marist Bros Dundas and whole great memories of the White Rose milk bar and then famous Rydelmere hotel where at the age of 14 we would buy a longneck just by walking through the drive-through went back several years ago could not believe the price of real estate but I guess it has been 40 years such great memories

So glad I could be part of the journey.

Great pics Barb. It was fun, and a little scary, accompanying you on the NYC drop. I was a little afraid of the security guy until he grabbed and squeezed your hand.

Now I understand where all the rabbits fit into the process.

I hope Brian has been unlodged from his resting place on the rocks below the falls. I had a friend who was there last week. I almost contacted her to ask her to check, but didn’t. I guess you haven’t had anyone contact you if they found him.

Barb, I’ve just read “Florence”. So enjoying reading about the drops, you are such a clever writer, I feel like I’m there with you. The way you describe these travels is so funny and witty, so made me laugh, knowing your aversion to the religious made it even funnier. Loved that Sam left you a hidden parcel and that you were able to find it! Love that the rabbits keep popping up, looks like Brian is there in spirit. Looking forward to more drops. X
